(Formerly Simcoe County Association for the Physically Disabled)
Independent Living Services of Simcoe County & Area exists to provide support and services to people with physical disabilities or limitations in Simcoe County, to assist them to lead dignified, productive, and independent lives.
Our Association has four primary goals to lead its activities. These are:
- To promote accessible communities throughout Simcoe County.
- To offer assistance to people with physical disabilities or limitations in planning their lives and participating in their community.
- To assist our communities to be accepting, informed, and supportive of people with physical disabilities or limitations and their support networks.
- To ensure the Association is organizationally and financially sustainable and accountable.
We strive to accomplish these goals while operating within the following values:

Albert Stein is this year's winner of the Robert Kerr Accessibility Award. He was presented with the award at Monday's Barrie city council meeting.

Promoting Client Safety At North Simcoe Muskoka CCAC
In a collaborative effort to help clients stay safe in their homes, we have developed and educational series of videos entitled Safe at Home. These 30-minute videos feature a variety of segments covering Fire Safety & Prevention, Fall Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Medication Safety & Storage, Infection Control, Elder Abuse, Domestic Violence and Fraud/Identity Theft.
