We Can Support Your Independence By Assisting With Your Daily Activities at Home, Work & School.

At ILS, we assist adults with permanent physical disabilities and seniors with activities of daily living such as bathing, transferring, meal preparation, and household routines. We will assess your needs and offer either assisted living support or personal support depending on your needs.

Support Services

Assisted Living

Assisted living services are designed for clients who can direct their own care and may need frequent access to services on a 24-hour basis within a designated geographic area. Together, we can develop a service plan around your needs and available resources.

Personal Support

Personal support services are designed for clients who can direct their own care to help with their activities of daily living. We develop your care plan based on your requirements to stay independent at home and in your community. We will pre-schedule services from 6:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. Monday to Sunday, depending on your needs.

To be eligible for Personal Support Services you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be 16 years of age or older.
  • Be insured under the Health Insurance Act of Ontario.
  • Have a permanent physical disability.
  • Require assistance with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting and transferring.
  • Be able to direct your own care.
  • Be able to live safely unattended and manage their own affairs to living independently.
  • Have your medical needs met by an existing community health networks.
  • The home has the physical features necessary to enable services to be provided safely.
  • You must have a back-up in place to support essential daily needs in the event that the Attendant is not available.

To be eligible for Assisted Living Services you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be an individual with a physical disability or meet characteristics of a High-Risk Senior (HRS) as identified in the profiles of Assisted Living Services Policy
  • Be insured under the Health Insurance Act of Ontario
  • May require unscheduled services for personal care that cannot be met by a prescheduled visit.
  • Require assistance with homemaking and activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, toileting and transferring that cannot be me solely on a scheduled visitation basis.
  • Live within the defined geographic area within Simcoe County.
  • Be able to direct their own care or have a live-in caregiver/decision-maker to direct care
  • Be able to remain safely in their home between visits.
  • Are medically stable and have their medical needs met by an existing community health networks.
  • The home has the physical features necessary to enable services to be provided safely.

Personal support services are not available for rehabilitation or short-term recovery. Our services are only available for adults with permanent physical disabilities and seniors.

If you are able to live safely and unattended in your home, we are able to provide you with support services. We offer care in your home, workplace or adult education facility. We do not provide support in long-term care, hospitals or other care settings.

If you are receiving insurance benefits for Attendant Care Services that meet your assessed care needs you will not be eligible for ILS personal support services.
